Help on marking a selection in a videofile

Procedure:

  1. To start playing, press the play button on the player (the Microsoft Media Player, the Real Player, the Quicktime Player or the Kasenna Broadband Player). The button looks slightly different in each player.

     
  2. Press the "Mark start" button on the right side of the screen to mark the start position of the selected clip.

    The selected position of the start marker is shown to the right side of the button.
     
  3. Press the "Mark end" button to mark the end position.

    The selected position of the end marker is shown to the right side of the button.

Other features

Opens the appropriate player to play the selection. 
Opens a window showing the snippets of HTML code that you need to play the selection later. There is a separate page with an explanation on this function.
Opens a window that allows you to add the clip to SURFmedia. To do this you require an administrative account on this videoserver. 
Opens a window to set options for the embedded player.
Create a file containing the HTML code to play the clip. Please note: in most cases it is preferable to use the snippets of HTML code in the window that is opened by  the "Open output window" button. This does not require a separate file. 
Adds the marked fragment to the playlist.
Opens the playlist to view, edit or save it.
Opens the input screen to allow you to edit the next file.
